IBH Philosophy

IBH strives to be a recovery, dedicated community “home away from home” where each person is welcomed as a guest. For an interval in a person’s life, the distinguishing attribute of IBH is the desire to balance professionalism and quality of care with love of neighbor. This challenge is exemplary and reflected by the Judaeo-Christian story of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11-32) within which all the themes and elements contained visualizes, focuses and mirrors the heart of IBH for lifting up each person and their family/significant other to a new lease on life, i.e.:

The Father.........Almighty God – The God of our understanding.

The Son.............Each man, woman, and child under the roof of IBH.

The Servants......The Board of Trustees, staff, and community support.

The Journey.......From loss, destruction, defeat, sickness, pain and loneliness to freedom, health, security, purpose, love and peace.

The Message......Welcome to our home, God is within, you are loved, there is hope, today is a new beginning.

The Setting........The facilities, grounds, and furnishing of IBH.

The Family........The community, alumni, the fellowship of the A.A. 12 Step Program.

The Privilege.....Meeting the treatment, personal and spiritual needs of each client, individually, equitably and selflessly.
